Every BAF gear set is 20CrMnTi, carburized to HRC 58–62, and finish-ground with tip relief on both flanks. The grinding pass is what gives consistent backlash across the full tooth width — not just at the mesh center. Noise stays under 65 dB(A) at 3,000 rpm no-load.
The three pin bores are finish-bored in a single setup, holding load distribution across the planet gears within 0.015 mm at rated torque. Multi-piece carriers develop an uneven wear pattern here after 3,000–5,000 running hours, which is where most reducer failures start.
Output axial play is held under 0.03 mm by a pair of preloaded tapered roller bearings. On rack-and-pinion, belt-driven and indexing-table axes, this is the difference between a repeatable position and a slowly drifting one.
IEC, NEMA and brand-specific flanges for Yaskawa, Siemens and Parker servo motors are machined into the input housing with a clamp-style coupling. No adapter plate means shorter stack length and lower runout at the motor shaft.

Every BAF frame is available in standard grade (≤5 arcmin single-stage) or precision grade (≤3 arcmin single-stage). Two-stage builds add roughly 2 arcmin to either figure. You do not pay for precision you do not need.

BAF is the wider-torque, lower-cost variant; BAE is the tighter-backlash variant. Both use the same gear material, grinding process and preloaded bearing layout. BAF standard grade holds ≤5 arcmin, BAE standard grade holds ≤8 arcmin on the smaller frames, and BAE precision grade goes down to ≤3 arcmin. For packaging, conveying and general positioning, BAF is usually the more economical choice.
